• Purchasing 40 School tablets ($150 each) to help the children attend to their studies and course work for school as well as extracurricular programs – like dance, language, and mentorship. Now the children have to share the limited number of desktops, which makes it difficult to see, ask questions, and explore. These tablets will open up opportunities and allow them to expand their knowledge, connections, and mind.
• 100 Comfort Kits. ($50) Each kit contains necessaties that SOFKIN children need: a school uniform, clothes, towel, and toiletries. The kits are given to new children as they arrive. These items belong to the child, and are sometimes they are the first item that a child can truly call their own. And, children being children, items get lost, broken, or run out. The kits are often needed to help replace items. Since SOFKIN has been experiencing an influx of children, it’s essential we keep these kits fully stocked, so no one feels left out.
• 20 Child Sponsorships ($720/year). As more children come to SOFKIN, are needed to provide a continuous support throughout the year. This gives these children a much need sense of stability as well as an understanding of the importance of a connection to others. Sponsorship can be paid monthly, or for the year.
